Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage solid research skills and creative approach to assess ingredients and technologies.
  • Drive innovation in discovery, advancement, and evaluation of new technologies to create impactful new products, improved processes, and/or capital optimization.
  • Manage strategic partnerships with research institutes, technology providers, and suppliers to acquire novel technologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on project goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external technology partners for ingredient and technology evaluation.
  • Function effectively as a Research Manager, Planner, Coordinator, Communicator, and Technical Expert.
  • Document all work, including technical plans, experimental reports, and plant trial reports.
  • Provide technical advice to senior management on scientific advancements beneficial to the company.
  • Support Marketing teams and customers on key technical projects.
  • Align resources adequately to ensure timely delivery of critical projects.
  • Clearly communicate management strategy to the R&D team and update leadership on progress.

Knowledge Required:

  • Strong expertise in R&D systems and processes.
  • Proven product development skills in the Dairy and Beverage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food flavors, ingredients, food chemistry, formulations, and processes.

Responsibilities of Head – R&D:

 Leverage solid research skills and creative approach to assess

ingredients/technology.

 Exhibit innovation in discovery, advancement, and evaluation of new technologies which can have significant impact on new products, improved

products or processes, and/or capital avoidance.

 Manage strategic relationships across a diverse group of external resources

including research institutes, technology providers, and suppliers to facilitate focused acquisition of novel technologies.

 Utilize broad approaches to projects and exhibit collaboration with multiple

functions, both internally and externally, to deliver against project goals.  Act as the primary contact with external technology partners with regard to

technology and ingredient evaluation.

 Function effectively as a Research Manager, Planner, Coordinator, Communicator, and Technical Expert.

 Effectively document all work including technical plans, experimental reports,

and plant trial reports.

 Provide Technical advice to senior management on advances / developments within the scientific community that may be of beneficial to the Company.

 Provide Technical Support to the Marketing group and to the Company’s

customers in the completion of key projects.  Adequate resource alignments to ensure key projects are delivered on time.

 Clearly communicate Management Strategy to R&D Team and progress on the

JOB PURPOSE

The R&D Department at Parle Agro is one of the core drivers of our growth and

ambitions of having a holistic food and beverage portfolio in India as well as

development of Global Portfolio Strategies. Our Vision is to gain the number one position in the beverage category, and

besides Sales & Distribution and Marketing, a very central function towards

achieving this Goal, is R&D.

Considering our ambitious goals, we are also investing largely on developing our

team with higher core competence and stronger and advanced state of
