Business Development Manager - Institutional Sales - FMCG/Hospital Sales - 10+ Years - Chennai

Location – Chennai

Summary –

An excellent opportunity for seasoned sales professionals with 10+ years of experience in Hospital/Institutional Sales within Medical Devices or Surgical Consumables. The ideal candidate will come with strong expertise in managing corporate hospitals, government institutions, multispecialty hospitals, and nursing homes across the South Zone. This role demands strong relationship management, negotiation, team leadership, and the ability to drive brand penetration and revenue growth across institutional accounts.

Responsibilities –

  • Manage end-to-end sales operations across the entire South Zone covering chain hospitals, corporate hospitals, government and multispecialty hospitals, and nursing homes.
  • Meet and engage with Gynecologists, Diabetologists, Intensivists, Pediatricians, Nursing Staff, and other key influencers to promote the product portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with hospitals and key decision-makers.
  • Lead negotiations with hospitals and institutional clients to finalize contracts and pricing.
  • Drive brand awareness and manage medical sales promotion activities within hospitals.
  • Develop sales strategies, product plans, and revenue growth initiatives for new and existing accounts.
  • Lead and manage the South Institutional Sales Team (on-roll and off-roll staff).
  • Ensure strong hospital coverage, quality of sales calls, and effective team management.
  • Oversee stock management at hospital purchase departments.
  • Conduct product training, workshops, and educational sessions for stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements –

  • Graduate in Science or MBA in Sales/Marketing.
  • 10+ years of experience in Hospital/Institutional Sales within Medical Devices or Surgical Consumables.
  • Strong knowledge of product portfolios, pricing, margins, competition, and market trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter with strong motivation to drive institutional sales in the South region.
  • Willing to travel across urban and rural locations as required.
