Manager – Asset Valuation Control (Tangible Assets) – CA or CFA Qualified - 8+ Years - Mumbai

Hiring for a CA or CFA qualified professional, for ensuring robust oversight and improvement of the valuation control and governance framework throughout the organization, with a specialized emphasis on assets that are illiquid and challenging to assess (including real estate, private debt and equity, and lifetime mortgages).

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Developing and strengthening internal reporting and oversight of asset valuation across the Group, facilitating discussions in the Valuation Working Group forum.

  2. Enhancing and standardizing valuation controls, policies, and procedures to ensure precision, consistency, and transparency in asset valuation.

  3. Maintaining oversight and evaluating the effectiveness of a comprehensive valuation control framework.

  4. Collaborating with investment teams, risk management, and compliance functions to assess the appropriateness of valuation methodologies and assumptions.

  5. Staying updated on regulatory changes, industry best practices, and emerging trends in valuing illiquid assets to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.

  6. Preparing for and actively participate in valuation committees and governance forums to review and approve fair value measurements, assumptions, uncertainties, and adjustments.

  7. Demonstrate a proven track record of effectively collaborating with remote teams.

  8. Assist the Solvency II reporting manager in reviewing Solvency II asset Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs).


  1. CA or CFA Qualified with over 8 years of post-qualification experience.

  2. Demonstrated expertise in performing, evaluating, and auditing asset valuations and associated processes, controls, and governance within the financial services sector, especially with regard to illiquid assets.

  3. Proficient in illiquid asset valuation methodologies and measurement, with a proactive approach to continuously developing and staying current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements.

  4. Proficiency in IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 7, 9, and 13.

  5. Familiarity with Solvency II reporting requirements is advantageous.
