Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst - BFSI/NBFC -2+Years - Mumbai

Location: Mumbai, India 

Summary: 

We are looking for a Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst with strong experience in research and analysis of BFSI and NBFC sectors. The role involves financial statement analysis, credit and risk assessment, financial modelling, and writing research reports to generate clear business insights.

Responsibilities: 

1. Conducting in-depth financial analysis of financial statements including Balance Sheets, P&L, and Cash Flow statements. 
2. Evaluating asset quality through metrics like NPA, GNPA, slippages, and provisioning. 
3. Performing credit analysis and risk assessments for BFSI/NBFC entities. 
4. Building and maintaining advanced financial models in Excel to evaluate valuation, credit risk, and stress testing scenarios. 
5. Executing ratio analysis of key metrics such as ROA, ROE, CAR, NIM, and Cost-to-Income. 
6. Staying updated on and ensuring compliance with RBI regulations and banking norms. 
7. Interacting with bankers, NBFC management, investors, and rating agencies to build and maintain professional networks. 
8. Conducting primary research and asking the right questions to uncover actionable insights. 
9. Collaborating effectively with internal teams, including sales, product, and leadership, for better decision-making. 

Requirements: 

1. Have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in financial research and analysis, specializing in BFSI/NBFC sectors. 
2. Possess exceptional skills in financial statement analysis, including balance sheets, profit & loss, and cash flow. 
3. Demonstrate a robust understanding of BFSI/NBFC business models and asset quality analysis metrics. 
4. Be proficient in credit analysis and risk assessment, with strong expertise in financial modelling in Excel. 
5. Showcase expertise in relevant financial ratios such as ROA, ROE, CAR, NIM, etc. 
6. Possess strong knowledge of RBI regulations, banking norms, and compliance standards. 
7. Be confident in interacting with banks, NBFCs, investors, and rating agencies. 
8. Exhibit strong problem-solving, questioning abilities, and innovative research skills. 
9. Display excellent interpersonal, team collaboration, and communication skills. 
10. Hold a degree in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field (CFA or FRM certification would be a plus).
