SQA Engineer / QA Automation Engineer – 2 to 4 Years – Chandigarh

Summary –
We are seeking a skilled SQA Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products through robust testing strategies and quality assurance practices. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in manual and automation testing across web, mobile, and backend systems, along with strong knowledge of test planning, defect management, and Agile methodologies. You will work closely with development teams to promote quality-driven engineering and continuous improvement.

Location – Chandigarh | Hybrid

Key Responsibilities –

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

  • Perform manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and backend applications.

  • Build, maintain, and enhance automation scripts using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

  • Conduct UI testing to ensure usability, consistency, and user experience standards.

  • Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or REST-assured.

  • Identify, log, track, and validate defects using defect tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.

  • Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.

  • Promote quality best practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a quality and testing perspective.

  • Generate detailed test reports, metrics, and dashboards to communicate quality status and test coverage.

  • Maintain QA documentation, test artifacts, and best practice guidelines.

Requirements –

  • 2–4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or QA Automation roles.

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and life cycles.

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.

  • Proficiency in Java with working knowledge of HTML5, XML, and SQL/DB2.

  • Experience in API testing of RESTful services using Postman or REST-assured.

  • Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab.

  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills –

  • Experience with TestNG, JUnit, and automation framework design.

  • Knowledge of database testing and data validation using SQL queries.

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile quality engineering practices.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional and distributed teams.
