Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for overseeing and driving sales growth within a specified geographical area. The role involves managing distributors, sales teams and implementing sales & marketing strategies to enhance product visibility and achieve sales targets. The ASM will ensure that the sales objectives of the company are met.

 

 

Role Deliverables

Key Deliverables ▪ Sales Management:

o Drive sales growth and market share for CPD-GT.

o Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to meet or exceed sales targets.

o Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to create effective sales approaches.

o Monitor daily sales performance, track key metrics, and adjust strategies as necessary.

▪ Distributor and Retailer Management:

o Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key retailers.

o Monitor distributor performance, inventory levels, and payment collections.

 

 

o Work closely with distributors to ensure timely deliveries and stock replenishment.

o Address complaints, issues, and queries in a timely and effective manner.

o Resolve issues related to product availability and sales operations.

▪ Team Leadership and Development:

o Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve targets and deliver high performance.

o Conduct regular field visits with sales team to ensure proper execution of sales strategies and product placement.

o Provide coaching and mentoring to the sales team to enhance their skills and productivity.

 

▪ Market Development: o Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in untapped or underserved markets.

o Collaborate with marketing and category teams to execute instore promotions and campaigns.

o Ensure high product visibility and positioning in key retail outlets.

▪ Reporting and Analysis: o Prepare and submit regular sales reports, detailing progress towards targets, market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.

o Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and areas requiring intervention.

▪ Compliance and Brand Representation:

o Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical sales practices.

o Maintain brand standards and ensure consistent brand messaging across all points of sale.

o Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics to stay ahead of trends.
