Data Engineer AWS - 5+Years - Pan India
This role sits within the EDP Data Platform (EDP) team supporting a major global insurance client. The successful candidate will work with diverse stakeholders to architect and build EDP application platforms that support client data teams with onboarding and provisioning data in cloud environments.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test Python-based enterprise applications following OOP and multi-tier architecture principles.
- Develop and enhance microservices-based platforms for data onboarding and provisioning.
- Build scalable solutions leveraging AWS technologies including AppSync, Lambda, Step Functions, Event Bridge, CloudFormation, S3, Glue, EMR/Spark, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, and KMS.
- Work with cloud-native data warehouses like AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Implement metadata solutions using AWS non-relational data services (e.g., ElastiCache, DynamoDB).
- Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver client-ready solutions with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to data engineering frameworks that support data marts, warehouses, and advanced analytics/AI-ML workloads.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables by applying analytical problem-solving skills and maintaining strong client communication.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of enterprise application development experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python (Java/Scala a plus).
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (AppSync, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, EMR, RDS, DynamoDB, S3).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, multi-threaded programming, and microservices design.
- Experience with Spark and modern cloud-native data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, Synapse).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
Desirable Skills
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Big Data Certification.
- Experience in Life Insurance domain (preferred but not mandatory).
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelorβs/Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related analytics fields.
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver client-ready solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage cross-cultural client relationships.
